The Fujifilm X-H1 + TTartisan 35mm f1.4
That is the combo that I used to walk around and take these shots. After I wax experimenting with a new recipe on the X-T4 I wanted to go out with the X-H1 with another recipe that was inspired by the X-T4 version. These are the shots I grabbed with it.

The TTartisan 35mm f1.4 is one of my favorite budget manual focus lenses. The 1.4 aperture allows for some solid shallow depth of field when you want it but then when you stop down you get excellent detail. As of this writing it’s only $66 on Amazon. But even if you pay the standard $83, it’s one of the best value lenses out there.

It took me a while to get used to the way the lens feels when changing the aperture and focusing but each time I go out with it I become more and more comfortable. I wish Fujifilm would make a manual focus version of their famous XF 35mm f1.4 (which I need to buy again soon) but that probably won’t happen so this TTartisan lens might the closest thing I’ve found to that look and vibe of the classic 35mm f1.4 from Fujifilm.

I know I’ve talked about my X-H1 plenty by now but I’m so happy I kept this camera. For the type of photography I like to shoot, including street photography, abstract city shots, landscape, etc; it does the job perfectly. The thing is there are other cameras I love too. So the reality is if I was left with only an X-T2, X-T3, X-T4 or an X-Pro camera I would be pretty happy.
But there’s something unique about the Fujifilm X-H1 that I enjoy.

Even though I wish the X-H2/X-H2s had the same top controls as the X-H1 I have a feeling I will enjoy shooting with those too.
This combo of the Fujifilm X-H1 and the TTartisan 35mm f1.4 is extremely fun to walk around with. Soon I will post the recipes I used for these shots as well as my recent X-T4 one.

Greetings, really enjoying the images here. How do you stay inspired? I use to go out and get photos all the time but have been in a slump for a while, any suggestions?
Hey Frank! I apologize for the late response. There are a handful of things I do to stay inspired. I’ll list a few but there are probably things I’ll think of later so I’ll revisit this subject in a video and blog soon. Here are a few things: 1. Revisit your current photo library. This sounds obvious but looking through my old photos often gets me excited to go out again. 2. Try new challenge. Whether it’s a gear challenge like different focal length, different camera settings or minimizing your gear and trying to make the most of it, making some change in your setup sometimes helps. Also challenges on what you shoot is helpful too. Go out and only shoot street signs, or only shoot windows or doors or some theme like that. 3. Go out during a different time of day. If you normally shoot in the morning, try the evening or afternoon. See how the light changes and how things in the environment change.
These are just some quick thoughts. If I think of more things I’ll create a video and blog soon. Thanks for reading and commenting!
Hi Craig, thank you so very much, I really need help with this as I get older my inspiration appears to lack but this is really helpful, thank you.
