Have I mentioned how much I love shooting black and white photography on these Fujifilm cameras? Of course that’s a rhetorical question. I’ve talked about it a few times on my YouTube channel. Fuji colors are fantastic and I love them but the look I’m able to achieve with my black and white work is one of the top reasons I love shooting with this system.

It was a tough but necessary decision for me to stop shooting film last year. Two tools I use in my workflow made that decision feasible. The latest one being my EPSON P700 photo printer. The black and white photos that come out of that printer are stunning. A nice B&W photo printed on a sheet of Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta makes me forget about my darkroom printing. And the look I get from my Fujifilm X-H1 & X-T4 (and X-T3 at least for the time being) make me forget about my gorgeous Nikon F3 (ok so maybe there’s some seperation anxiety here. lol) and ILFORD HP5 or KODAK TR-X.

These few B&W samples are just a few photos I took yesterday while parked in a store parking lot. I try carry by small camera bag that holds a camera and lens pretty much where ever I go. I don’t always have the camera in hand but when I see a cool cloudy day like yesterday was, I’m prepared to take advantage and get some cool shots.
I need to dive a bit deeper into the black and white photography using Fujifilm cameras. Let me know if there are specific aspects that you want me to cover or that you’re curious about.

So true, I have reserved an X-E1 especially for black and white photography with a 7 Artisans 25mm (see: https://www.flickr.com/photos/191974230@N06/52384292249/in/dateposted/ ) and a Fujinon
27mm AF, works great. Thanks for your informative website, inspiring posts and photos and your YouTube channel!
