Ever since I created my first Bleach Wash recipe I knew I wanted to revisit this look and create another variation.
Just like Bleach Wash 1 I created this on my X-T1 but I tried to keep this recipe compatible with as many X-Series cameras as possible. This should work on X-Pro1 and X-E1 cameras as well as everything after.
“BLEACH WASH 2” RECIPE SETTINGS
BASE FILM SIM: PRO NEG. HIGH
DYNAMIC RANGE: DR100
WHITE BALANCE: AUTO
WB SHIFT: R -6, B 6
COLOR: -2
SHARPNESS: +2
HIGHLIGHT TONE: +2
SHADOW TONE: +2
NOISE REDUCTION: -2
Pro Negative High is the base of this recipe. The DR100 and AUTO WB settings make a really flexible recipe to shoot in a variety of lighting situations.
If you like the “bleach bypass” vibe and don’t have one of the latest cameras that have that look built in then give this recipe a try.
I’m trying to get a hold of an X-E1 so I can build some recipes specifically for the the X-Trans I sensor and of course a new camera for X-Trans IV sensor recipes as well.
Beautiful Craig.
Love this Recipe. I can’t wait to get out and about with this one.
Thanks again for all your work.
Thank you Justin! I hope this recipe works out well for you!
Good day Craig, I tried this recipe on my Fuji X100T with an X-trans II sensor. However, the photos turned very green, not near the colors of the photos uploaded for your Bleach Wash 2 recipe. I’m just wondering what I did wrong, WB: Auto; R: -6, B: 6. But when I tried your Bleach Wash 1 recipe, with a WB: 5000k, that’s when I got the colors of the photos uploaded for your Bleach Wash 2.
Sorry, my bad, instead of doing R: -6, B: 6, I did R: -6, B: -6, that’s why it turned out green.
I’m happy you got it figured out Ian! 🙌🏼
