Here is yet another B&W film simulation recipe for the X-T1 (X-Trans II Sensor).
I went out on a street photography walk recently and before I went out I wanted to choose a recipe that would give me some drama and contrast with the blue sky and clouds. I looked through my X-T1 recipes and realized I didn’t have one that fit that description so I created this, “GRAY DARK”
What I was hoping for was drama and contrast in the skies. Since we don’t have the same type of city landscape as New York or Chicago I often get a lot of sky in my shots even with street photography. Anything that can help add some interest to my shots is welcome. I knew a B&W simulation with a red filter would help give me a great start to achieve this.
On the day I first went to test this out I was lucky enough to have some interesting clouds in the sky. In some shots this really helped emphasize the contrast that the red filter created.
I really enjoy this recipe and am happy I still have some options on the X-T1 like this one that I haven’t explored yet.
Although created on my X-T1 this should translate to any of the cameras with the Monochrome simulations with the color filters.
