Today’s update will be very short. Yesterday was a pretty slow writing day. I was able to get a little bit of writing done on my phone which brings me to today’s subject, using the smartphone for writing. I would not want to write a full screenplay or novel on a phone but there’s no reason it could not be accomplished. I am, however, extremely grateful to have this powerful, always connected, mobile computer in my pocket. Often times it is used strictly for capturing ideas but since both Final Draft and Scrivener have smartphone apps I can hop into the actual screenplay and make changes or add to it if I want.
Capturing ideas anytime and anywhere I have them is one the most beneficial aspects of having a smartphone for me. I have my Moleskine and pen with me ALMOST always but I carry my smartphone like it’s my wallet. I don’t leave the house without it, so during the times when I don’t have my notebook and pen, I have my phone.
If you are interested I’ll dive deeper into the apps I like for mobile writing and idea capture. I try to keep it simple but at the same time I’ve realized trying to make one app do it all is asking too much.
Today will consist of more mobile writing, with my phone and paper notebook.
Until Tomorrow. Thanks for reading.
