Day 4 of Nanowrimo was productive. I made good progress on the script and my notebook is coming along nicely. On a side note, I have decided I will use my laptop to write when I’m in the situation to do so but will use my iPad Pro for much of the writing. Writing on the iPad Pro is awesome but I do love the keyboard and larger screen on my laptop and figure I might as well use it when I can.
If I’m going to write a blog update after every day of Nanowrimo I’m going to have to find ways to make these a little more interesting than just giving a simple updates on how the writing is going. I’ve decided I will start giving little bits of information about the story, the characters in the story and some of my influences.
I will give more story info this week but for now I want to mention one of my biggest influences and that’s the X-Files.
The genre of my story is science-fiction but just like X-Files it’s science-fiction mystery. During high school and college no other show had me glued to the TV each week as the X-Files did. I was always drawn to this kind of story but the X-Files was the first show I can remember that really played the 2 notes of science fiction and mystery so well.
It’s Day 5 of Nanowrimo and I’m still chugging along on the script and revisiting some of my influences during my downtime. If you have never checked out the X-Files, you should. If you dig UFOs, aliens and mystery you’ll love it.
Until next time.
